Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:
The City of Battle Creek desires to continue to ensure quality life support, pre-hospital care for its citizens, as well as ensure that advanced life support ambulance service is available with reasonable response times. Battle Creek Area Ambulance, d/b/a LifeCare Ambulance Service, has agreed to meet certain standards that are outlined in the attached Contract for Paramedic Service for the Greater Battle Creek Community.
Minor modifications to the contract have been made as follows:
- Removed all references to wards regarding response times.
- Clarified and updated the insurance coverages.
- Updated the non-discrimination language according to the City's Ordinance.
- Clarified the City's "first response" responsibility.
The City Manager is authorized to execute the Contract for Paramedic Services with Battle Creek Area Ambulance, d/b/a LifeCare Ambulance Service, pending approval by the City Attorney of final contract language.
I, Victoria Houser, City Clerk of the City of Battle Creek, hereby certify the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Resolution adopted by the Battle Creek City Commission at a Regular meeting held on June 21, 2016.
