HISTORY, BACKGROUND and  DISCUSSION

This Board was created in 2008 to undertake functions, objectives, and powers enumerated in Section 1 of Public Act 49 of the Public Acts of 1999, including the promotion of economic activity in the Business Improvement District along Columbia Avenue and providing or contracting for the administration, security, and operation of the District, to include physical improvements and joint marketing.

 

The majority of membership must represent the commercial class of property, the property class projected to pay more than 50% of any levied special assessment that may be levied, as required by statute.
