Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:
The City Commission of the City of Battle Creek held a public hearing on December 20, 2016, at 7:00 PM in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, Battle Creek, Michigan, for the purpose of establishing an Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District No. 16 under the provisions of Act 146 of the Public Acts of 2000, within the City of Battle Creek on property described as:
BC CITY RANGE OF BLOCK NO. 3 LOTS 68, 69, 74 & 75, EXCLUDING THE SOUTHWESTERLY 111.5 FEET OF LOTS 74 & 75, THEREOF, TOGETHER WITH AN EASEMENT FOR INGRESS & EGRESS TO A LOADING DOCK AT THE NORTH END OF LOT 75, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN LIBER 2 OF PLATS, PAGE 42 IN THE OFFICE OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS FOR CALHOUN COUNTY RECORDS.
Commonly Known as: 103 Michigan Avenue West
A Notice of Public Hearing was provided to the owners of all real property within the proposed district and the public as required by Act 146 of the Public Acts of 2000; and
The City of Battle Creek is a qualified local governmental unit under Act 146 of the Public Act of 2000 pursuant to Section 2(k) of said Act. The City of Battle Creek desires to establish an Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District and has notified the owner(s) of all taxable property located within the proposed district, and
The City of Battle Creek finds and determines that the proposed Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District meets the requirements of said Act because the parcel or tract of land to comprise the district is obsolete property as defined by Act 146 of the Public Act of 2000 in an area characterized by obsolete commercial property.
The City Commission deems it to be in the public interest of the City of Battle Creek to establish the above described real property located within the City of Battle Creek as Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District No. 16.
I, Victoria Houser, City Clerk of the City of Battle Creek, hereby certify the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Resolution adopted by the Battle Creek City Commission at a Regular meeting held on December 20, 2016.
