Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:
That a meter reading Opt-Out process has been established whereby utility customers may choose not to have the City's standard metering and reading equipment utilizing radio transmitting technologies installed. This option will utilize non-transmitting equipment and will require City staff to manually read water meters as defined in the attached Exception Request - Automated Meter Read Device "Opt-Out" form.
A fee of $60.00 has been determined to represent the costs related to collecting meter reads through this manual process. Therefore, the opt-out exception meter reading fee also needs to be approved by Commission. Approval of this fee will amend the Fee, Bond, and Insurance Schedule to include the opt-out exception meter reading fee.
I, Victoria Houser, City Clerk of the City of Battle Creek, hereby certify the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Resolution adopted by the Battle Creek City Commission at a Regular meeting held on November 10, 2015.
