That the City Manager is authorized to sign the Application to Purchase and Agreement of Sale with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for Parcel 301A pt. A Tract 1443.

BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS

HISTORY, BACKGROUND and  DISCUSSION

On May 17, 2016, the City Commission approved the jurisdictional transfer of portions of Columbia Avenue and Skyline Drive with MDOT.  As part of this transfer, a portion of Skyline Drive was eliminated to help facilitate future development of the Air National Guard 110th Attack Wing.

 

In order to further facilitate future base development, MDOT has agreed to transfer ownership of this portion of their right-of-way to the City of Battle Creek in exchange for the jurisdictional transfer that has already taken place.

 

The attached application includes a map of the portion of land that is included in this agreement.
