A Resolution Revoking the Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Act (OPRA) Exemption Certificate 3-11-0006 For McCullough Investments, LLC.

BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN - 12/3/2019

Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:

 

Pursuant to P.A. 146 of 2000, as amended, after a duly noticed public hearing held on January 4, 2011, the City Commission by Resolution No. 42 established Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District No. 7; and

 

On May 17, 2011, the City of Battle Creek approved Resolution No. 140 which approved  an OPRA application for McCullough Investments, LLC, certificate number 3-11-0006 for property located at 1346 W. Columbia Avenue in the amount of $550,000; and

 

McCullough Investments, LLC, has failed to proceed in good faith with the operation of the facility; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Commission of City of Battle Creek that the City Commission hereby revoke Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Exemption Certificate number 3-11-0006 for McCullough Investments, LLC, for property located at 1346 W. Columbia Avenue.

BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS

This resolution ends the Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Exemption Certificate number 3-11-0006 for McCullough Investments, LLC effective for the 2020 tax year.


HISTORY, BACKGROUND and  DISCUSSION

On January 4, 2011, the City Commission held a public hearing regarding the establishment of an Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District and after the hearing approved OPRA District No. 7.

 

On May 17, 2011, the City Commission approved an application from McCullough Investments, LLC for an Obsolete Property Rehabilitation Exemption Certificate for a period of 12 years.

 

On July 13, 2019, McCullough Investments LLC relinquished the property to Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.
