BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN - 12/3/2019

Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:

This Resolution establishes City Commission support of the funding received under the 2018-19 Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) grant number 20222170 from the Battle Creek Community Foundation (BCCF) who is acting as fiduciary for the U.S. Attorney’s office of the Western District of Michigan.  The Battle Creek Police Department has been awarded $37,000 for the Violence Interruption Initiative as part of the Project Safe Neighborhood grant.  This resolution will allow the City Manager to sign the program award agreement between the City of Battle Creek and the Battle Creek Community Foundation.  The City of Battle Creek is the sub-grantee and as such will be receiving Department of Justice funding for programmatic work/projects. The agreement between the City of Battle Creek and BCCF states that the BCPD will comply with all financial, legal and administrative requirements and oversights.  After the grant has been accepted, an appropriate budget will be established and activity will be recorded in New World Systems.
