Resolved by the Commission of the City of Battle Creek:

 

The City Manager is authorized to execute Contract No. 2021-010C with Utility Associates, Inc., for body worn cameras for the Police Department in an estimated amount of $737,300.00 with unit prices prevailing, which will be paid from account 401.14.4283.973.020 (Police Department Technology/BWC). The cost of this will be spread over five years.

BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS
This is a general capital improvement fund business unit. The first two years of costs will come from the risk fund as a transfer in to help cover these costs.

The City’s Administrative Code provides exceptions to the sealed bid requirement when it is in the City’s best interest to do so.  Chief Blocker’s attached memo describes the selection process.
